Most common mistakes when submitting a MBE, WBE, WBE or 8a certification application

Provide:

  • Unsigned or undated documents (bylaws, operating agreement, stock certiificates).
  • Expired documents (business license, driver´s license).
  • Incomplete documentation (resume, list of last year´s contracts).
  • NAICs code mismatch between Tax Returns and contracts.

Think that the following documents are unnecessary, because the applicant firm is a small business:

  • Board of directors´ meetings minutes.
  • Shareholders´ meeting minutes.
  • Stock certificates (Corporations).
  • Stock ledger (Corporations).
  • Member certificates (LLC).
  • Ownership transfer ledger (LLC).

Fail to prove:

  • Initial Investment.
  • Ethnicity.
  • Specific NAICS Code experience.
  • Full time devotion.
  • Business related technical experience.
